Bringing river Quipar back in Murcia, Spain

Murcia is one of the driest regions in Spain. And it's getting worse because of climate change and industrial agriculture for water-intensive crops, like lettuce and broccoli.

Crops are struggling to survive. And farmers are finding it harder to sustain their livelihoods. But some farmers are not giving up! Alfonso Chico de Guzman has transformed La Junquera Farm into one of the regenerative farms in Europe. We're thrilled to team up with Alfonso to help restore 30,000 hectares of land in Murcia—and bring the river Quipar back to life! Listen to this story. It will give you goosebumps.

Project details

Currently, destroying the land in Murcia makes 80 times more profit than regenerating it.

That’s not right! So we are changing the game.

This project is about:

  • Digging ponds and teaches to penetrate more water below the ground.
  • Regenerative agriculture and crops with local farmers, including almonds, pistachios, aromatics and even wines.
  • Rewilding part of the land into grasslands, forests and wetlands.
  • And hemp land restoration along with production of hemp-based materials.

Join us in this restoration! We need:

  • Buyers for regenerative crops (almonds, pistachios, essential oils, wines)
  • Buyers for hemp products (oils, biocomposites and construction materials)
  • Buyers for carbon credits
  • Nature impact investors
  • Land investors
